This actually happens all the time. I actually own a body shop in LA and see this sort of thing all the time. The best thing to do is call your insurance and make a claim. Find a shop that you are comfortable with and direct the insurance to view the car at their facility. Make sure you do your homework, and go somewhere reputable as there are a ton of hack shops out there. I also wouldn’t assume that it is not just the bumper that is damaged. I do all the work for a local Mitsu dealer and am fairly practiced with these cars. Cars are only built with bumpers to handle a 5 mph impact. I would say that with enough force to push one of these pigs, you probably have damage under that bumper cover. As a fellow X owner, I feel your pain. PM me if you need any help getting everything sorted out. I would be glad to help.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the support. Can't think of anything on how it happened (cause I checked that the gear was at first and ebrake was pulled). Based on what you guys are saying, sometimes I think that it just didn't actually went on gear and I'd probably just didn't pull the ebrake hard enough (like more than 2 clicks). I should have taken picture of the gear and ebrake as well just to be sure as I was such in a hurry to see if there was damage in the front as well. I don't know anybody that hates me or done anything bad to anybody me to hate that much to do that. Walked around the area and check most of the cars but no luck. Asked the neighbors if they saw anything, no luck. My guess would be some drunk students. This actually made me more paranoid. Last night I set the alarm and woke up around 2am just to check on it since thats the time those students comes back from bars and clubs. Saw some cars passed by but nothing that caught my eye.

I actually talked to a cop and told me if I need a report to just call him. He can't do much since there's no color marks of the culprit's car.

How would you know if there's a damage in gear? I tried to drive it last night and I didn't felt anything unusual.

I'll look for a good shop in town this weekend and try to get an estimate. I saw one website (discount mitsubishi) that sells the bumper cover for about 380+shipping. Anybody bought from them and is this a reasonable price?

Sorry to hear buddy. Yeah that ebrake is iffy sometimes I have had mine start to just roll when I thought I had it pulled up all the way. I always double and triple check now.

Good luck.

Just have the bumper cover repainted. At least it will still be an original bumper(complete with VIN sticker). Dont buy a new bumper cover.

That's unfortunate. People these days don't care about crap and most are dishonest if confronted about something (think parking lots, etc.).

Nowadays you have to think 2 steps ahead when it comes to most situations with nicer vehicles in all aspects.

All the best,

MvP

With the pavement being wet there would be no "skid" marks from your tires sliding on asphalt.

That was obviously done on purpose and the car was pushed forward that far by some envious POS or just the normal ******* doing what they do best.
