Dang this sucks, bro. I dont know what insurance you got but I got progressive. Wife dinged the fender real good and I took it in for quote. Insurance quoted about 1200 then deducted 500 and I took the 700 check and found shop that did it for 400 and pocketed the 300. Most insurance will quote you a reasonable going rate for the job, cut you a check minus the deductible and will let you find your own shop. But I dont know how your insurance goes about its claims. Just tell shop its not an insurance claim or they will want all the money your insurance quoted.
