Horrible QC! Mine's a 2008 MR bought in May 2009, meaning it started its life sitting on the lots. Mine is still running as strong as the day I bought her. Sounds like it's a hit or miss, but it seems like 3 years is about the limit for these factory ones

+1 on dead batteries. I had mine sitting for a while during the snowpocalypse and after a few weeks of sitting it was so low it wouldn't turn over. I jumped it and its been flawless since.

I agree with "highly evolved". Aftermarket alarm systems installed incorrectly can cause alot of abnormal problems. I've worked at several dealerships and have found some bizarre aftermarket alarm installs spliced into CAN lines and all sorts of places they should not be.

I hope it gets resolved.

2010's don't use the Panasonic battery do they? I thought all new evos after the '08's got a red top. Mine came with one when I bought it.

Also as previously stated, anytime you are storing any vehicle for a period of time you should disconnect the battery, or use other provisions to disconnect power.
