The Evo X really is a cop magnet.
I have been pulled over at least 4 times and never ticketed. The cop uses the excuse that he didn't see my front license plate. I bought Mitsubishi's mounting plate and drilled into my bumper so they would leave me alone. They still pull me over because the Texas license plate blends in with the white of the car despite the black border around the license plate. When they do pull me over, they check my exhaust, they check to see if I have any warrants which i dont, they check my tint, they check every single thing possible and because I abide by the law they never ticket me, but I can count on getting pulled over every single time i take that particular highway. It's frustrated me so much that I've honestly thought about trading in my car because I get tailed by cops no matter where I go despite driving just like everyone else...
I guess the evo x is a cop magnet compared to a 4x4 lol.
I have owned WAY more cop-magnet-esque cars in the last few years than my x so I see driving the x as a breath of fresh air. I had a 400whp acr srt-4 and a right hand drive 93' GC8 JDM wrx..... yeah, way more heat score than the x....
I was waiting to hear some story about being hassled for no reason..... ? Seems you know what the rules are, why not just follow them?

Second time in Berkeley, but I got 2 tickets this time. One for over time parking, and one for no front place.
I just zip the place to the front mesh to have an officer to sign off, and cut it off when i got home
i live in a state where a front plate is law and many cars and suv's don't have front plates.
i also REFUSE to drill holes in my bumper. i got pulled over 2 weeks ago for speeding and when the cop asked me where my front plate was i pulled it out from behind the front passenger seat and i said 'here ya go" lol it was a young cop so we both laughed. i told i had just bought the car and didn't know how to install it without drilling holes in the bumper so he just gave me a ticket for speeding. Its funny though because cops see me drive around through town and no one has given me **** over it(knock on wood)
This is odd, because I used to drive Chevy Cobalt SS/SC with a giant wing and aftermarket exhaust. Needless to say every couple of days I'd have some cop just pacing me at night coming home from work, or some random cop pull me over because I wandered too close to the double yellow line.
Ever since I got my RR Evo X, I haven't had any of those problems. I also live in NE, where State Police is notorious in stuff like speeding tickets, and don't give out breaks (you gotta be ex-military to get into the MA SP).

Yeah...I just got my X a couple weeks ago and the dealer said they don't screw in the brackets cause they don't want to mess up the pretty face of the X lol. Obviously I wouldn't have wanted them to either, so I'm just gonna get something to rest the front plate in the dash in front of the passenger seat. No cope issues yet, but if one pulls me over I'll just explain the situation...
the way i see it i try to avoid giving the cops any reason what so ever to pull me over. I dont see what the big deal is about putting a front plate on. If its the law in your state, you need to do it. Here in NY they come from the dealer already drilled. I dont even think they look that bad.
