Poll: Did you Purchase a USED Evo X?

Looking at Evo Xs and wondering how many of you bought them used/pre-owned and what your experience has been.

Please answer by stating:

Yes/No
Mileage when purchased
Issues (if any)

Thanks for any replies!

Im the first to vote yes... I bought the car with 42k miles on it back in october. Which I later found out seemed to be pretty high for X's, it now has 49.5 on it and still runs like a champ, pulls hard, boosts freely.

Not a single problem yet, except for the infamous droopy SSS sideskirt, but I plan to do something about that when the weather gets nicer.

I bought a 2008 Evo X in August of 10' with 17,000 miles on the odometer. I've only had minor maintenance to perform except the failure of the CMC in Dec 10'. It now has 22,000 so hopefully nothing major pops up in the near future.

You should take the opposite tack, and ask those who sold Evos how they treated their cars, why they sold them and what issues they had. Admittedly and presumably many if not most who sold probably moved on to something else and don't read this board anymore, but you would still find some who just bought a newer model. Like me. Whomever bought my 2008 GSR car is a very lucky person. Driven with care, never abused, zero problems. This is my 3rd Evo.

You named one of the reasons I didn't use that strategy--that former Evo owners have a higher chance of not logging on here anymore.

Additionally, I think it's a better pov to hear from someone who owns the car NOW to see what effects, if any, the previous owners might have produced.

Issues don't necessarily present themselves instantly and dealers (if purchased through a lot) can also change cars back to stock, fix necessary items, etc.

voted, and bought my 08 2 months ago used with 30k on the ODO. So far everything is running smooth but I did the 30k service right after purchase.

Only non-mechanical issue im still dealing with is cleaning it... the previous owner didnt take care of the engine bay, interior, or paint. The front bumper is loaded with small chips but I can deal with that for the price I paid

bought my 08 4 months ago with 21,000 miles on it...no issues just regular maintenance and car has been amazing.

You'll get a lot of mixed responses here but I am a firm believer that if you are careful and take your time you can absolutely find a good safe deal on a used evo.

Super pleased with mine so far

No, I bought mine new with four miles on it. I've had a leaky t-case and a ruined clutch. Otherwise, it's been good.

Bought an 08 with about 4500 miles two months ago and am hoping for no issues. Only issues I have is some curb rash on two wheels and a small ding on rear driver side door.

Bought my '08 last May with 7,123 miles stock and I've had no problems so far (knock on wood). As of right now she has 17,777 and still's running great. Just make sure you look over the car thoroughly if you decide to purchase used. Best of luck!

Bought my 08 RR GSR with 29k on it from a dealer. Bone stock. Some slight cosmetic flaws but mechanically sound. Now have 36k with light mods. Still good!

I look at it this way driving a new car off the lot you lose at least 5k...now unless somthing is really wrong with the pre owned you bought you will not come near 5k in repairs on minor things
