My damn exhaust tip fell off.....

Has this happened to anyone with stock exhaust??
Not sure how this could have happened, I never hit anything or ran over anything that could have done any physical damage.

No rust, it looks like the stock tips are just "slipped" on. There aren't any screws that hold it.

which tip, the left or right? if your looking at the rear, my left side tip has fallen off a couple times (i have an UR exhaust though) only when its raining (creating lubrication) and i've driven atleast 25 miles though (creating vibration). Im pretty sure its just my exhaust hanger though because the holes on the left one (the one that falls) are a little bit bigger than the ones on my right hanger.

i think he is talking about those fake oval tips that they installed over the stock exhaust tip.

- Find a way to tighten them.
- Just run without them.
- Or get a aftermarket exhaust with real tips

it was the passenger side tip. and yes, the tip oval "cover" is what fell off.
i hate the look of stock exhaust on the X.....and now my car looks even more retarded from the back. it's not just a pipe that is there when you take a tip off......it has a star-looking thing that hold the tip cover on.

looks like my exhaust tip has two of these on it:

Clearly you need to get a new exhaust from the manifold all the way back. In fact, get the new Full Race manifold too, just to be safe.

lol ya that solves the problem. but OP when i had a GTS my tip fell off also, there is a screw at the bottom of it that simply touches the exhaust pipe, it doesnt screw it in just supports it. so slip it back on and tighten the screw.

Have the dealer replace under warranty, not a big deal at all.

My guess is they won't replace it because the part is actually missing...this is assuming Mitsu didn't already void his warranty for being on a forum that discusses what will void their warranty.
