I love the colour and how much it changes.
At night under a light it shines sort of golden - looks great.

Well I didn't realize how different the PB is from the black on the 8/9s. I always clay, polish and wax a car when I first get it, and I thought I ruined the paint after I did so on my PB 10, only to come to realize that after seeing another PB 10, that it's just the way it looks. Don't get me wrong I love the car, and it looks good when washed, just not that piano gloss black I prefer, instead a greyish purple haze .

I'm thinking about picking up an MR T for a daily and making the GSR a project, and if I do, the MR is going to be silver.
My sentiments exactly, I've dropped hundreds on diff polishes and compounds, and I just can't get the paint to behave the way I want it to. Although to be fair, it is one of the few colors I notice that really doesn't need a polish from the get go. As long as it's clean it looks pretty good. But just getting it to the next level seems to be a big task. I rather enjoy Fishstix's PB. But I can't tell if it's mostly camera/photoshop effects, or the detailing itself. His PB is very, very black and deep, and almost looks like it has no metallic flake. Maybe it's repainted or something.

I'm surprised there are so many people disappointed with PBP. I don't care for solid piano black on cars. To me it's boring, always looks dirty, and looks the worst of any color after a couple years/scratches. Solid black + swirl marks = disaster.

That's why I love the PBP color. It shifts colors in different lighting, it has depth to it thanks to the tint and flake, and it stands out as a unique color. I'm a huge fan of the color. I don't normally do metallic colors, but this one was perfect. Wicked white was my second choice, but I just sold my STi in aspen white, so it was time for something different.

i just got my phantom black evo as well 3 weeks ago, i kinda bought the csr over the phone so when i went to pick it up i was suprised by the color. i think the color is bad ***, i get so many compliments on it. i also really like it cause i can see the curves in the car more than a usual really black car can. in the shade or at night the car looks black but when in the sun the color is just so unique. my friends keep saying the car is grey but im like nahh its phantom black lol.

Which products did you use, I think I used 2 or 3 steps of Zaino, made no difference.

I waxed mine with 2 coats of Meguiar's Tech Wax and it looks amazing. Well, at least it did. Thunder/lightning storms every day for the last week and a half in Denver.

This was my first wash since I got the car so I used a tiny tiny bit of dishwasher with a combination of zaino car wash to strip any contaminants/factory wax. Then I clay bar the hood and bumper looking/feeling for any imperfections(bugs). After clay bar I used Z-AIO, Z-CS, Z-8 in that order.

I used to use Zaino for my M3 and it was recommended to me by another m3 owner. Only complaint is that their products are a bit expensive but it's well worth it!

Funny thing is that after I detailed my car I had to drive 70 miles hwy and it rained! The water immediately beaded up on the car and just slipped off. After I got back to my place it didnt even look like my car had been in the rain

Do you have that study papers? I would love to read it! Thanks!
