Loss of Power ?

Whats up everyone im not new to this forum i used to own a Evo IX back in 06, but i recently just bought a Evo X about a week ago. So when i first got the car i noticed that it had alot of torque, and seemed to be pretty powerful on low end. About 2 days ago i decided for now to just drop in a K&N drop in filter. I didnt really notice a big difference at all except for the sound, which is no big deal. Of course i really havent been easy on the car since i got it because its a little hard to be. yesterday, and today i noticed as if the car seems a little slower, and the pick up on it when the turbo spools seems like something is holding it back from full power. I opened the hood, and everything looks like its still intact, but the only thing ive noticed was a slight noise from the engine. sounds like a tapping noise but its very faint. Help me out guys . Im wondering if im just getting used to the power?

I'm guessing you're just getting used to the power.

Here's a dyno chart of a stock 2011 X GSR, then added a K&N drop-in:

Wow thats not a bad increase for a drop in filter. Is that tuned as well or just dynoed after dropping in the filter?

make sure the vacuum line that runs from the intake manifold to the fuel pressure regulator is still attached and put a zip tie on both ends to ensure it stays that way.... Is the car new or used? May also want to take a close inspection of all the clamps etc and make sure the filter is properly seated in the intake box... sometimes they are a pain.

Other than that, i vote for you just getting used to it...

Untuned, that's nothing more than swapping air filters. AFR's did go slightly leaner with the K&N.

If the faint tapping noise gets worse you will want to tow the car somewhere and have it inspected.

The X has a lot of noises to get used to though so I doubt its anything wrong but being overly cautious isn't bad.

Get tuned and enjoy it!

The noise your hearing is most likely the fuel injectors. They make a loud clicking noise.
