Just got er in the mail!

Need some help, how do you tell if this was a used stock turbo or new from FP? also if it were ported or not?
also what is with this weld??

Looks used and abused man...the hot side has a crack thus the duck crap looking welds. Send it to FP and get it rebuilt. I hope you didn't drop alot of $$ on the Turbo. GL!

 

It also does look ported. Everything looks ok except them welds.

 

I paid 2k from a guy saying it was brand new from FP and wasnt a used stock turbo converted, but what I looked @ it I was 2nd guessing! are you 100% for sure its used?

 

bumpp... Shuld I just slap this baby in even tho I paid 2k and said it was brand new from FP or should I return it?

 

call FP man and talk to them.. why waste time asking here when the hotside was obviously damaged at some point... if FP built that turbo recently they would remember the borked hotside.

Just got off the Phone with FP, they said its new and they need to cut that part bc of the size of the turbine or something, said all of them are like that,, so good news for me
gaskets will be here early next week and hope to get this bad boy on and tuned Numbers will be up soon

That weld looks like bird **** I wouldn't be happy with that standard of work on something i'd paid 2 grand for. I would definitely try to compare it with other blacks..

 

Ya that's what I thought when I saw it. You should see how the welds ended fml
I have alot of and and ets parts and the welds are mint!
Would like to see other members black turbos!!
