Not sure what to say about the rims...they told me they put them on. As for the boost....the guy was straight up bull****ting...iiunno why since he isnt making a cent..the car is going to the other dealership that i been dealing with for the final sale (picking it up tomorrow instead of friday).

They were asking $45,000cdn...i got it for $43,000.

Also to Jazket, the $45 a month increase wasnt just the tape, it was the smart program as well.
Essentially you're paying exactly what a base GSR is supposed to cost but you're getting cheaper rims. If you really like the rims and would have gotten them anyways, then it doesn't matter. Make sure you check to make sure the tires are brand new and not semi used as it's kind of scary that they like to swap parts from other EVO's And you can't tell if it were new or used.

Yes the low spoiler is stock and the only thing they changed was the rims. I know it wasn't the Handling package down-spoilered and rim swapped because your rotors are the standard base model single piece as to the handling package 2-piece. 43k is fairly standard for a brand new Evo. Final price should be just under 50k after taxes and fees.

Yea i was under the impression that the dealership i been dealing with screwed up and was getting me a car with the handling package, but once they gave me the VIN i checked out the other dealership where the car was at and sure enough it wasnt one of the cars i thought i was getting. Doesnt really matter because ill eventualy change those parts anyways.

As for having different rims for winter, the car is getting parked next month until Mid-Late March...im heading to afghanistan on Aug 15th for a 8 month tour so i dont have to worry about that this year. I'll talk to the dealership about the rims, i do like these ones so i want to keep them but ill try to get the stock ones as well.

So i got the car today, all i can say is wow!, I'm trying to keep it under 3000rpm but she just wants to pick up. So here is good news/bad news...depends how you take it. The dealership the car came from, swapped the rims...they were pissed off that another dealership was taking/selling the car so they put the stock ones back on.

Most Mitsubishi dealerships like to boast about many things that aren't true. Most of them don't even know what they are talking about. The Mitsu dealership locally here claimed that a customer who bought an Evo from them beat a Lamborghini the other day when I went to visit the dealership last year. I didn't buy the Evo X based on that.

So just a little update of the bull**** i had to go through yesterday.

Ok so when me and the gf were making the deal with the dealership, we said we wanted 3m tape. They asked where on the car, i said the whole front end....that was the end of that. The next day i went in to sign the papers and Kelly (finance manager) told me the 3m tape only covers the whole hood...i was rather pissed because it was costing $600 but whatever, i accepted for some stupid reason.

So i picked the car up the day before yesterday and only about 1/4 of the hood was done. So on my way to the dealership to find out wtf this **** was, i stopped at a place that does window tinting and 3m taping (brought my Cobalt, 370z and the truck there...awesome work for good price). Asked how much it would cost to tint all 7 windows and it was $255...pretty good. So i asked him how much they charge for the strip the dealership put on my hood....he said $100. Not only 500 less but they go another 2-3 inches up the hood then where the dealership stopped at. So i asked how much it costs to do the full front bumper, half of the hood, fenders and mirrors...$490 and he said "they are using some ****ed up ****, ours is alot more glossy looking..alot more shine on it"

So i went to the dealership, told the sales manager and the finance manager the issue. They said that where they left off on the hood is there version of the "whole hood" because of the 2 vents on the evo's hood. So i explained to them that i was under the impression that the 3m tape protection was suppose to cover the bumper, hood, fender and mirros....any other dealership does that..even the nissan dealership i got my 370z from and for the $600 as well.

So they said they cant do the bumper and all that cuz it costs to much. First they said "well if we take your hood off and do 100% of the hood, will you be happy" i said "no, because the initial deal was for the whole front end...then you told me only the whole hood...but you guys only did 1/4 of the hood, i want the whole front end done"

So they talked and said "how about we give you full paint protection and undercoat for free"....i said no, i want the front end done.

So they got the GM to come down...told him Nissan and the tint shop do it for a **** of alot cheaper...he called nissan and couldnt get a hold of anyone (he only let the phone ring once since i could hear it). He then said "i dont care what they do at the tint shop...so stop bringing them up"

So he kept going on about the cost of the tape, i then said "i dont care what it costs you guys...its $43,000 coming out of my pocket, i want my car protected and i want the deal i asked and paid for"

Once again he through the paint and undercoat at me, i said no...i asked how much does it cost normally to do that...would have cost me $2000 to get that. I said why not use that $2000 value towards my 3m tape? He said no cuz its not what they cost, the paint and undercoat only costs them $70-90....so i was like "wtf! only costs you $90 and you want to charge $2000!!!!....if it costs normally $3000 like you said to do what i want to my car, how much does it cost you?" he said "parts and labour...$300" I ****ing lost it then. But then he came back and said "wow, hold up...we were nice enough to give you the car early, even though you havent put your down payment down" I said "fine, take the car"....he asked for the keys....i said "here...heres the keys, i want the keys to my truck back" he said "doesnt work like that" and he stormed off.

So Kelly was about to go after him and i told her "tell him that if i dont get my 3m tape, ill be getting a lawyer" he came back and said "you can try and sue us, but you will loose" So i said "even if i loose, you guys still get a bad rep....its a loose/loose situation for you"

So Kelly came back about 10mins later and said "if you give us the car and we do the front bumper, fenders, hood and mirrors, and pick it up friday with your down payment...will that work for you" i said yes, thats what i want....so the deal was made. I asked for the deal in writting and me, kelly and the manager signed it. They gave me a Lancer GTS until friday.....

if i lived back on the east coast of canada i would since they use a crap load of salt during the winter. But they use sand here on the west coast, hence why i want the whole front end of the car 3m taped..lol.

This type of dealer would make me want to walk. They're really shady for trying to screw you out of lots of money...

Did you already sign over your title to your truck? If you haven't then you should still be able to get it back but I'm not sure about Canada law. In this situation, if I had a way out, I'd get out. At the very least they'll be more negotiable with you...

Damn, sorry you're going through this crap. I'm always 100% serious and 100% business with dealers because of this. They play too many games these days and I hate that - so usually they end up acting like I'm rude... I just tell them I don't need to buy, plus I get loud in front of other people in the showroom if the opportunity presents itself. I've caught a Toyota dealer trying to add a $1600 disability on my brother in law's purchase... I was soo happy when he let me tear up the contract in front of the finance person.

yea i already signed my truck over. I got screwed over when i bought my 370z and didnt catch it. But this time i made sure i wasnt getting screwed over. When i said ill get a lawyer and the GM yelled at me saying ill loose...there were about 5-6 customers in the show room...5mins later they were all gone.

Good for you man. They try to do whatever they want to and seem to forget how much money you're spending in total. I'm glad you got what you wanted
