Hello
I was checking around on BOV flutter when I came across this page I would have never thought any one would want the sound but these WRX owners block off there BOV to make surge. I was like WOW.

Actually, a lot of 240SX owners do it too. I personally love the sound, but last I heard the jury was still out on whether it would damage a turbo.

i am not sure what is the flutter really means for others, but i have it in my car, since i got the VTA BOV. I have a Gems ECU so i am not running on OEM ECU anymore. Also it is actually make it even weirder when the ALS is on. ONly really get a solid strong psssh noise when i shift on throttle. As soon as i lift, the car more like flatters then just releases the pressure. Probably because the ALS is still keeping the PSI up over 12 psi even if i completely off throttle..

Any time you shock something spinning at several thousand RPM, there's a high chance of damage happening at some point. Maybe if you were running a titanium or inconel turbine it wouldn't be so bad, but allowing flutter on stock equipment is probably not a good idea.

My STi had terrible flutter on both the stock BPV and the HKS SSQV I had. No matter how much I played around with the SSQV I couldn't get it to go away. I suspect that STi had vacuum issues, though, since it also had a boost spiking issue when a certain boost controller was installed that I couldn't fix.
