I have a 2008 EVO X GSR and my emissions monitors are all ready besides the EVAP monitor. does anyone have anythings I can check? or how does it run or where are the hoses?

Did you clear any codes recently?

 

Yeah I think so but there wasn't any about the evap system.

 

I guess you either disconnected the battery or cleared some codes recently.

Most EVAP systems will only operate within the 1/4 to 3/4 fuel tank range as the EVAP pump doesn't want to run too long or suck up fuel. Also it won't set on the first drive cycle. You have to drive it at least for a 20 minute session and then shut the car off for at least 4 hours. Over night is usually the best. Then start it up and drive like a grandma. No more than 50 mph in 5th gear at a constant rate. If you have a scanner have it plugged in so you know when it sets.

ok I try that I didnt really know what the drive cycle was and I had been driving it a bit so I figured it was good but Ill try the 50 mph in 5th and see what I get. Thanks man.
