AMS 750R Kit..

So……. Ive been throwing the idea around of going AMS 750R kit.

Current Mods Include:
AMS CAI
AMS FMIC and piping
Grimspeed 3-Port
ETS Test Pipe
Magnaflow CBE
some gauges… some suspension work, wheels tires, blah..blah.. blah.. some other stuff
Tuned by AMS 326/324 @ 25.5-26PSI
So after a short time with this setup im already getting used to the power. I was originally planning to go with an FP Red, injectors, E85 setup type deal, although I have made the mistake countless times of not planning ahead. So in saying that; I was thinking to go with the 750R kit. That way I have room to grow, when I build the motor eventually.
Thoughts?
Good idea to go with this kit on stock block?

Set-backs? (Besides money)

If you're planning on building the motor down the road I would say you are definately on the right path. I wouldnt want to waste money going on small stepping stones when you are better off dropping some stacks and getting what you want. However... even with more power you will be getting used to the power. ;-)

As for how good it is on the stock block, conservatively it will be ok, but it may not be the fastest set-up b/c of lag & you can only run so much boost. I dont know how that 750r kit does... I would contact AMS if you have any questions about their kit. If you're interested in a turbo kit I would give Chad a call at CBRD to talk about options, he was super helpful on the phone and wasnt just trying to make a sell.

And yea... money is a good set back. What clutch are you running?

On stock clutch right now, and will be until i toast it; given that i have a couple of road course events i can join in on in the next couple months, i am sure the clutch will be replaced before the end of the season. I have not done my homework on what clutch to invest in just yet, although when i do the clutch i will also do the CMC and Shep work at the same time.

Once the stock block gives out, the AMS 2.2L will be in the works. I dont care for numbers at this point. I dont care if its 90000000000 horsepower, or 400hp. Im looking for efficiency, and consistent results with this kit. The weak link being the stock short block for now.

Yea... I like the magnus cmc conversion kit. Takes some time to install but its nice not having to worry about it. Plus I like it better now that I'm used to it.

With the stock block and safe tune, you will again get used to the power very quickly and wanted more.

Instead of doing it twice get the bottom end built so you can use the full potential power of what this kit is about.
