Welcome to the forum. You may want define exactly what you mean by "track," and what class you plan to compete in, if applicable. Too, folks may be confused by the request to compare parts to a completely different platform and the reasons for it. Good luck.

Well It just depends on if $15k is enough for SCCA Autox Prepared class or solo prepared category this is all very new to me and i only looked at the rules a little today.

Congrats on winning an Evo, that is incredible. I would suggest that you contact a reputable shop (there are many on this forum: AMS, Buschur, MAP etc... ) and discuss with then what type of racing you plan on doing and what your goals for the car are. I am sure any of the shops on this forum will work with you in coming up with the best route for you to take in terms of a build. Also, by going to a shop right off the bat, you will get things done right the first time.

If you want to run SOLOII (auto-x), you don't need to buy a thing. Start with learning how to drive (I'm not joking) - a pre-season school can be a HUGE help. Auto-x is 85% driver, 10% tires, and 5% car.

Not sure who you plan on having build/tune your car for you but I would gather all the info you can off of here and bounce ideas off of the shop you plan to deal with. All the major evo aftermarket parts producing companies are on this forum and are a great reference for their products. Good luck!

By the way...I am thoroughly jealous you WON an Evo X. Pictures required!

You'd better talk to your tax man first, before you go spending $15k on mods. You will owe a huge amount of money on April 15th due to this car being considered income over and above your paychek. And secondly, hahah, good luck trying to hide this from your wife, women have that amazing ability to find things out

look like i need to put more thought into how i want to go about this cant just throw some 40inch mudders, lockers, ang a winch and go have fun braking it in this sport. Having the pros take my car and do it right so I dont wast time and money is going to be my best rout. As for my wife she knows its her money she makes it and I get the toys!!!! thanks guys

What I would do:

semislicks
brake pads and fluid
3" exhaust + bbxlite + 3port + 1000cc injectors + E85 tune
coilovers (KWv3's or DMS or whatever RobiSpec is doing)
swaybars
weight reduction

if its autox only then you probably dont need a cage, otherwise get a cage!

I dunno what regs your going to have to follow, so modify that list accordingly...
