2011 Evo and $15k help!
He's right. The Evo is a powerful car for what it is. The car can get away from you if you aren't prepared for it. I'd get some good amount of track time before you start going gunhoe in modding it. Many make the mistake of modding the Evo beyond their abilities and then can't keep up with the car. IMO a very large majority of the users on this site can't keep up with a stock evo and yet they are still capable drivers.
All I'd recommend is you start off with some basic brake upgrades. Track pads and fluid. When you can use all the power and corner hard without spinning out without traction control on, then you're ready to start modding.
Many serious track junkies go to basic cars like the miata because it focuses on the driver's ability versus the car's ability. Work on your driver mod then focus on the other mods later. Good luck

Congrats on winning an Evo, that is incredible. I would suggest that you contact a reputable shop (there are many on this forum: AMS, Buschur, MAP etc... ) and discuss with then what type of racing you plan on doing and what your goals for the car are. I am sure any of the shops on this forum will work with you in coming up with the best route for you to take in terms of a build. Also, by going to a shop right off the bat, you will get things done right the first time.
+1
Just to repeat what is echoed through nearly every thread similar to this one (I've read quite a few); Your best bet is to run the car completely stock and get a feel for everything before you go and start modding the car in any way. Typically, the average driver/weekend warrior at the track will be completely out performed by his car until they progress through a few events and get to really grasp the physical limitations of the car. Once you lap times just simply can't get better because your tires are too narrow, your brakes can't stop quickly enough and you need more power to get through the straights faster, that's when it seems is an acceptable time to start dumping money into the car, that will yield noticeable results. If you hop in a race-prepped Evo for your first event you will most likely have your smaller, fundamental flaws covered up by how powerful and capable the car is.
Ok lots of good advise here im just excited fist car project can u blame me but I will leave it stock I will upgrade the brake and what about suspension other then that get a season of tack time and schooling then see at that point if I need it.
Ok I'm a nub graphics or no graphics like full car rap?

Just leave the car be. These are nearly track ready cars
. The only thing I'd suggest is maybe a clear-bra to preserve the paint.
To add on to the modding question. When you have such a new car, it's best to get to know it. Figure out what you like and don't like about the car. Additionally, the car may have some issues. Run it for a while (5-10k miles) before you start throwing power / suspension mods on it. You could mask an issue with upgrades and not know if it was there before the upgrade or after.
Just enjoy the car for what it is and then go from there. Congrats on the win btw

I dropped my fair share of win this car inside a mall and never won before.
get a custom tune or cobb AP stage 1.
Then change your brake fluid and go hit the auto X.
