Loud car cure?

Added a test pipe and retune this week on my X. Car currently has a ETS V2 and ETS downpipe. I was a little disappointed at how much louder the car is. Im not sure I want to chop up my mint ETS v2. Does anyone know if a Mangaflow 4x9x14 or 5x8x14 muffler will fit in the tunnel? There appears to be enough room but I hate being the one who reinvents the wheel.

put high flow cat instead of test pipe... makes a difference in sound... or go back to stock if your annoyed on how loud the car is.

i agree with blueaeon.

install a U.R. cat in place of the test pipe.

still flows high c.f.m. and will dull the sound a bit.

Magnaflow mufflers always sound great. But doing that will reduce the value of your ETS exhaust ALOT. I would buy the ETS quiet exhaust and then sell the V2 on the forums or try to locally.

That way you don't have to worry about ordering the wrong size, still not liking it, and the time it takes to weld it on.. I would call up ETS and see what they could do for you..

I bought the UR mini muffler test pipe and the guys at ur said it would be about as quiet as the stock cat! I have not installed it yet, but I will be going from a 200 cell cat to this so we will see!!! I would be happy if it were as loud as my HFC!

Get rid of the V2 and get something that uses a real muffler rather than resonators like the V2 Quiet, Magnaflow, or Cobb catback.

The reason the V2 and exhausts like it are so loud is because they make more power than the quiet exhausts, whose muffler designs are much more restrictive for flow.

I had the Ultimate dual, and went to the T1R 76S. I lost a little power, but the sound is super quiet. From what I saw on the dyno, a quiet exhaust will not rob as much power as a high flow cat.

I have two small kids and couldn't live with the sound. Just remember that the way you have it now will definitely make the most power, so think of that before adding a cat or selling your exhaust.

Good luck.

Is there an automatic mode on this that you can set to throttle position and have the ECU trigger a change like the new BMWs do? Or do you manually set it?

Thanks.

It's manual for me, but they do offer this:

VK05

Automatic control kit which features an extra function that can adjust the volume automatically according to the pre-set RPM by users.
