New Noise

So today I got up to the 1000km mark in my 2011 MR and when I got home I noticed it developed a new noise. On top of the usual injector pulse and lifter tick its making this noise that sounds a bit like tapping or rattle. It's faint but I can hear it from inside the car if I focus on it and its creeping me out (I have a 3000GT VR4 that spun a bearing and since then any rattle makes me paranoid...). It sounds like valve train noise though and it seems to be coming from under the valve cover though a bit towards the firewall. Its hard to pinpoint...

Could it be the SST? I can't be sure but I noticed that the sound gets less noticeable if I put it in D and louder if its in P. Does anyone else's SST make noise at idle while in park?

I know these cars make noise (all mitsus do). My VR4 with the new motor makes the same sound but its a bit more understandable since it's got like 80,000kms on it. I'm still learning what sounds are normal and what I have to worry about.

Tomorrow I'll post a vid of what I'm hearing so you guys can hear it too.

Your car is BRAND new.... go straight to the dealer and get it looked at ASAP. It could be 1000 different things so don't let people here on the forums speculate what it could be since they aren't there, cant listen to it, just go to the dealer.

Take it to a reputable Mitsu dealership in your area, it doesn't have to be where you bought it from.
