I can not remember exactly what the warranty on the EVO is but since no one else has answered yet I will give it a stab. Typically cars come with a adjustment period warranty that covers rattles, adjustments and so on, they are usually around 12 months or 12,000 miles. (Which ever comes first)

Depends on the dealer..

Took mine in during the 1-year adjustment period, and told them of the various rattles from different places on the car - but asking only for one, obvious rattle/buzzing sound in the door be fixed.

Was told they could not replicate the issue.

2nd visit, past 1-year adjustment, but still inside 3-year bumper-to-bumper.. complained of same issue - got same answer.

I have around 2200miles.

I just went to the dealership about a rattle I hear only when there's load on the engine, but doesn't sound like its from the engine, but from the dash.

They put it up on the lift and with some investigation the technician believes its the shifter cable when there's load it puts just enough tension on it to make the sound.

They offered to pull everything apart to address the rattle, however they did point out that anytime you pull the dash apart, there is a risk of loosening stuff up for more rattles. I agree with that thinking and decided to not have them do anything about it (just happy it's not drivetrain noise).

I think the dealer should cover rattles under the General Warranty. But think about this... do you really want the dealer gouging your interior while it pulls stuff apart to look for rattles?

I've also heard stories where people have new rattles caused when the dealer pulls things apart to fix an initial rattle. lol

If I just give to the service people the key instead of the full key fob, could they still use the launch control. I would really hate those kids working at the dealerships to use the launch control and burn off the clutch

1-year/12k-mile adjustments, 3-year/36k-mile "basic" bumper-to-bumper, 5-year/60k-mile drivetrain, 7-year/100k-mile anti-corrosion + various federal & state-specific warranties for emissions-related parts (1-year to 8-year).

I am sure it is a great time for the service guys to get a crack at trying to replicate the rattles you may be getting from the car. They probably wring the car out for all it's worth to try and then tell you nothing is wrong with the car.

I recall working in a casino and some valet guys doing smoky burnouts in a Corvette. I would make sure that they don't take the car for a spin.

If you get a Cobb you can turn Valet mode on and they won't be able to beat it to heck.

Then say good-bye to your bumper to bumper

I had a rattle up in the right side dash near the a pillar. It was actually more of a squeak. I took apart the end of the dash myself, found it, and fixed it myself. It was the common issue of the pin from the chasis rubbing on the dashboard frame.

They shouldn't check your ecu for rattles and if they say the engine wasn't revving past 4 or 4500rpm if they do get on it, you can ask them what they were doing revving it up so high.
I know what you mean though, just an option.
