Suscribed to this thread. I recently bought heated mirrors from a member on this forum.

The mirror assemblies for the heated mirrors have extra wirrors in them. Yeah, you could add them on your own, and I probably will. $180 a side isn't worth it to me.

You won't find anything dangling. It's just one wire in the already existing mirror harness.

Sounds like an easy job to just add in the missing wire instead of buying the entire housing.

Sure. If you have the correct pin to add to the connector. Also, you have to figure out how to add the connector inside of the mirror housing for the heated mirror element.

It should be a plain plug and play. I doubt you will have to add any pins or connect anything else than the harness itself. The car is prewired ans the heated mirrir assembly should also be wired so, you would just have to connect the plugs.
If you search ebay for lancer heated mirrors, you will find a lot of aftermarket ones for 50 to 90 $a side.
Regular lancers came with heated mirrors also, so finding a pair of those at a junkyard is not impossible

I suppose you could pick up the aftermarket heated mirror housings and cut the harness out of this and use it on the factory housings to make the setup even that much easier, but you're still wasting money.

For the faint of heart, i'd just find a buddy or stereo shop that will wire them up for you, saving you about $300 total avoiding having the buy the entire MR housings.. The most this mod should cost is $140ish after ordering left and right heated mirrors /w the elements imbedded. There will be a wire coming off the element, this is the wire you will manually insert into the housing harness. You could even vampire clip it into the harness.
