I basically wanted a fun, fast, reliable DD.. something that if I was paying around 500/month(I'm at $560), I could drive it everyday and after a few years go by, it still makes me smile everytime I drive it. It need to have 4-doors, as it is my only car right now. Almost 3 years in the X and it still meets everyone of those requirements.

This is my second Evo and both of them were strictly used for DDing. Neither had ever seen track/AutoX/strip. I needed something very reliable and the Evo has always proven to be that in my case.. as long as you treat them right and do the maintenance on time or early.

I don't really need AWD because the weather doesn't get to bad down here..

I had Lexus is350 previously, it was a quick car but its not a "true" sports car. I love the evo more because of the way it handles and it is a mod friendly car!

Beside the obvious reason it being an EVO...

AWD
Not too obvious of a sports car (i have an MR Touring, no wing + sunroof).
4 doors and a boot well somewhat of a trunk...
Highly and easily modifiable/customizable
Godly handling, especially after eibach pro kit and whiteline R+F anti sways.

I got mine because the test drive made me wet myself!!! Got to remember to wear my depends!!! I test drove a bunch of the other cars and the 06' RS was the most confidence inspiring. P.S. - It was the Demo cars that were pissing or smoking when I brought them back!!! LOL!!!

one day the sky opened up and doves were flying around and they glowed like the ones on Mission Impossible. An Angel came down and said you will buy an Evo and build it to dessimate all!

Last car was an 05 STi, I wanted to be able to compare car vs. car. But, any new car had to be turbo, standard trans, and mod/tune friendly. Besides, the X is almost done with it's production years, and it's quite possible it will be the last of the AWD Turbo cars. It will be great to look back and smile that I got to own one.

Also SSS and SL gives a nice upscale feeling that's similar to the 335xi, and it's 10k less. I don't think a complete BMW fan would even consider the X on any sort of comparable basis, but it's okay, I know the X handles better :-p

I bought the Evo because, I have had a 1g gst a 2g gsx and a 3000gt Vr4. I loved all these cars. I had heard and seen great things in the Evo overseas, and when they said they where coming to the states I was like "Oh yeah!". 2003 came and I went drove one and bought it because it was a practical 4 door with AWD, oh yeah and 274 hp and a ton of fun to drive!

Got the VIII cuz I dreamt of owning an Evo since the days of Gran Turismo.

Got the X cuz I found it for $26000 with 4k miles. Couldn't pass it up.

I wanted something more fun. I had an IS350 and it was deathly boring... Also got sick of driving an auto... I had a 350Z before the IS and since I already did the rwd sports car thing I wanted awd and more importantly boost

4doors for more ******
AWD for winter/snow (cali guys have someone explain to you that its not jut found on mountains)
Wanted a new car 2010 and up

Honestly it was a lot cheaper than an STI, i woulda love and STI for hatchback functionality.

All that being said, I love my car and wouldn't get rid of it anytime soon
