Why did you buy your EVO
Because my gt500 was about the same weight as my 4runner and handled just as well. The gt500 was great for spinning tires and going straight in perfect weather. Have had my '11 evo for over a year now and love it! Best of both worlds (compared to my old cars) sold the 4runner and gt500 and bought the evo...plus it's about 1/3 the insurance and property taxes.
1. I've wanted one since before they came to the US (back when I had an eclipse)
2. I wanted a DD that I could track on the weekends
3. Wanted something capable of being driven year-round in the northeast
4. Need to transport the kids occasionally
5. Like much better than STi (and there are LOTS of those around here)

the insurance company totaled my car
I wanted an STI hatch for the snow but they wouldn't let me test drive one. So i said FU and went to look at the EVO. I am so glad i did because STI's are a dime a dozen around here and the EVO looks so much better.
Why? Because driving a Government Motors Chevrolet made me feel like I was cashing federal unemployment benefits without justification. The fact that my Camaro would randomly catch fire at busy intersections was not a factor in my decision to purchase an EVO.
