JDM evo x has the system installed, it's for spraying water to the intercooler, helps in cooling.
Evos 7-9 have it too, since it was used in rally cars, it had to be present in production cars also to comply with homologation rules.

Why is it useless to cool the air charge a bit more?
Rally cars used it, so it must be of some benefit right?
Also, to those interested in how the system works, read this:

Maybe for them.... but there is a good reason why is there.
Its all about what you are doing with your car.
Most people has no use for it in the states. High way pulls and so doesnt requires it. But the car wasnt made for that.

It made for a different purpose, you guys just lucky they have to sell them for a public from the begin with. Otherwise you wouldnt even know about this car. So chill whit those "useless" comments....

If you drive your car hard but at relatively low speeds - such as autocrossing or anything on dirt or gravel - then a water sprayer is quite useful. High loads plus low airspeeds will heatsoak an IC. Those who never slow down or live life in little 12-second chunks don't need them.

What are you talking about rob? We are chill, although you seem like the one getting worked up about it. It is useless, 99% of the people will not be able to tell a difference. It's as usless as a big *** wing for DD (I love my big wing), or VG's on top of the roof.

Sounds like 'these people's just aren't using the car as it should be. But you are right... if all you do is drive your EVO to a grocery store... you don't need a wing or IC spray.

God forbid an EVO owner take their car to a track... that is just craziness!!! *rolleyes*

yes you are , right. but because for dd does not matter that doesn't mean they are useless.
what is really a same thing in this mentality , is an evo for dd...

so when you have an evo for dd, how the big as wing less necessary or the ic spray ?

just playing around with ideas .

Where I live, the "99%" are trying to make the world better place by sleeping in tents in a park downtown. Many don't even own cars. So, I guess that I agree that they don't need an IC sprayer ... unless they could use it to take a shower.

Or am I missing the point (again)?
