Can't you just get a Mitsu dealer in NZ to import one from a dealer in Australia?

Seems like it would be a few thousand miles closer than getting one shipped from Japan.

Maybe contact one of the guys at TMR in Oz.. they might be able to point you in the right direction.

They're cheaper from japan (in most cases).

Personally I'd find a used one in NZ. Importing is a lot of hassle and risk, damage repaired, stolen, mistreated and now radiation risk. With cars already in NZ (even if they have been imported), at least you can get vehicle information reports and mechanical checks prior to purchase.

I looked at importing a wagon before I bought this one, the cost after freight, certification, registration etc ended up a couple grand more expensive than the local ones for sale. Then I waited a while and picked this one up for about 5k less than the other ones available at the time.
