I did what shep told me to, I beleive it was Trevor who I talked to on the phone. I poured 2 qts of redline mt-90 and 1 qt of redline lightweight shockproof gear oil and let the tranny mix it up. Then, after 500 miles of city driving and shifting change the fluid. After that he said to change the tranny fluid every other oil change. I personally thought this was a tad excessive, but he is probably figuring on extreme conditions. Also this is was an evo viii 5 speed. I haven't had any reason to want to try any different weights, since this mix seems like it shifts great to me whether im beating on it or just puttin around town.

mt85 as a viscosity of 75w85 which matches the cold viscosity of oem 75w80, but is thinner than oem at normal operating temperatures... that might be bad...

Isn't it the higher the number, the thicker it is? OEM would be thinner than MT-85 at operating temp no?

At least, engine oil is like that... 40 weight is thicker than 20 weight at operating temp.
