Nope, it's much cooler in the summer than the optional Mitsubishi aluminum knob. It gets warm, but never too hot to touch. Basically, if something is on my car I love it. Everything I haven't has been removed and sold. This is why I've tested two shifters, three catbacks, three testpipes, two kinds of exhaust hangars, etc.

Living in Vegas its something I really have to worry about. I have a leather stock knob so its not bad, I'd imagine the OEM aluminum option would be a little painful on some days.
