I think his point is, when we all bought our evos, we knew what we were getting into with gas prices, insurance, maintenance, etc. If that wasn't part of your decision making, and you're hurting on paying gas, evo is probably not the right car to own.

It was $3.99 in San Antonio when I filled up last week. I might have to fill up today. I think we have probably broke that $4 mark. Damn the gov't to hell

Not effecting me at all. What do you do, everyone is paying for it. You have to put on about 100,000 miles to justify spending $6500 more moving from a vehicle that gets 20 mpg to 30 mpg. So ya go spend an extra $10,000 for a hybrid and see if you can get your moneys worth back out of it.

I agree. If you actually sit down and do the math for total price of ownership then the EV's are not worth it. But I believe the gov't will continue to raise the price of gas until the EV's will then be worth it. We still have cheaper gas than alot of other countries.

If you owned a Mazda RX8 you`d think the EVO was getting hybrid like mileage in comparison....I feel very fortunate to have my EVO be able to get up to 25-26mpg highway when I keep my foot out of it....its really not that bad.
My step dads Altima 6 cyl gets an avg of 22.3 mpg....

^+1 Evo X vs RX8 in gas mileage was like a Prius vs Hummer H1.

Very true... as long as you don't step on the gas and cruise out there in the streets (its the legal thing to do, saves you brakes, gas, engine stress, tires, etc...) the Evo is very good with gas for what it can do... a friend of mine has a X doing 550whp on e85 and he does 22mpg+ everyday on the highway... I do 25/26mpg as well whenever I'm not pushing it...

It's just very hard to drive this car like a prius
