Very true... as long as you don't step on the gas and cruise out there in the streets (its the legal thing to do, saves you brakes, gas, engine stress, tires, etc...) the Evo is very good with gas for what it can do... a friend of mine has a X doing 550whp on e85 and he does 22mpg+ everyday on the highway... I do 25/26mpg as well whenever I'm not pushing it...

It's just very hard to drive this car like a prius

Tell him he can't use the dashboard mpg when your on E85, its worthless at that point. You have to record miles and then calculate at fillup. 18 is probably about the best he will see.
