It may not need body repair but it will still need bumpers removed, window trims removed, door trim and door jambs removed, headlights, tails and side markers, cowling, sunroof, sideskirts, trunk and spoiler, antenna....

Then you talk about masking everything and sanding down the stock paint, anyways you get the point....

The chance of this paint turning out wrong are very high and it would be a damn shame to have a somewhat new car with no paint issues be messed up now.

Looks good now, wait a few years. Your car may look great now, wait until a year or so under the sun and elements.

Hopefully not the case, but I've been around several real good body guys enough to know.

Keep it factory color! If you want to change it wrap it, the price is super cheap. Repainting a vehicle will hurt the resale value if that matter to you.

^This! As you can see in my sig, I own both a GG Evo X and a white Evo IV. After ~14 years in service, the IV's white paint looks terrible and is a royal pain to keep even halfway decent looking. I can only imagine how quickly a $600 paint job will degrade. I'm strongly considering getting my IV wrapped in matte white vinyl down the road.

The GG is a clean, understated color. If you want a "louder" more attention-grabbing color take a harder look at Lamborghini's color palette. Either way I'd argue against a paintjob and in favor of vinyl wrapping, even if it's significantly more expensive.

Not to mention the issue of having a grey engine bay (and other areas) in your WW car....

I thought I had read a thread where they posted the color production numbers of 2011 and the WW was the most produced. I might be mistaken.

But I do agree with you. Thats one of the many things I love about the Evo. You rarely see them. Or have a "sighting" of one. I live in SA TX. I believe we are the 7th in the US for population. Right around 1.4 mil people. And that doesnt include illegals either lol. But I have only seen an Evo X a handful of times. Since 08 I have probably seen one on the road about 6 times now.

I saw one about 2 weeks ago passing me up on the opposite side of the highway. It was a WW.

I saw one on this street close to my house before that and it was also WW.

I saw one at Target a couple months ago and it was WW.

One shot around me when I was getting on the highway about 6 months ago smoking really badely and it was a WW.

Out of the handful of Evo's I have seen on the street the only one I've seen besides WW was the blue one. I have yet to see a silver, black, GG, or red on the street yet.

Yes an Evo sighting is very rare. But a Lancer in my town is a dime a dozen. They are everywhere. So for me part of the WW being played out are all these WW Lancer GTS's I see all the time as well. People around here buy a Lancer and put on the Evo wing. They then paint the front grill/bumper black in efforts of making to look like an Evo. I have seen this 3 times now. 2 in WW and 1 in Red.

As stated, a color being played out will depend on your local area. The majority might be WW in my city, but then might be GG in another city.

Either way the WW is an awesome color in the Evo X and IMO the best color to get. I bought an Apex Silver because it was my second color choice and because they had one. If the dealership had a WW and AS I probably would have picked up the WW even though I feel thats the majority of Evo's in my area.

An Evo is an Evo. I dont think you can go wrong with any color. I wouldnt buy an Evo if it was pink, but I'd sure as hell rock it if it was given to me for free.

I love my GG evo, don't paint it!

Although, I'm sure it would be easier to find rims that match.

painting it period will destroy resale value

On that note if you are going white stick to the factory WW paint if you want to retain resale value...putting Lexus or STI white paint on the X will absoulely diminish resale value if that matters to you...

^^^with the $$ u lost for resale value, and the $$ u paid to get it painted, you could've just traded that thing in for a WW instead of ruining a perfectly fine factory paint job.

I would just trade it in for a WW Evo. I see no benefit of painting it unless you go a custom color. How much will it cost to paint the car? Like 4k? Isn't that basically what you would lose on trade in? Or Atleast close to it? Plus in my mind, it would make the resale value a lot worse over a factory painted car.

I say 1. Leave it as is, 2. Trade it in for a WW, Or 3. Paint it a custom color.
+1. My first Evo was a GG 9 and after looking at WW Evos at meets and on the forum I agree it's the best color. I sold it and bought a WW 8. Love the white. If I get a X it'll be WW.

I think a lighter red would be awesome on Evos. RR is too dark of a red for my tastes.

I say stick with the GG or sell it and buy a WW.
