Tires rubbing

I had 4 new tires put on a month back and just noticed now when I turned down the music that it sounds and feels like the front tires are rubbing. Only happens when I am backing up and have to turn the steering wheel sharply though. Doesn't happen when turning sharply going forward. I am running the stock GSR rims and stock tire sizes.

have you checked that all your fender liners are secured?

what tires? not all tires of the same size are the same size. for instance, star specs are very wide in comparison to others.

Fender liners are all tight and secured. The tires are BFG All Seasons and are the exact same size as stock.

Pull the tires and inspect the wheel wells. Should be fairly obvious if the tires are rubbing as there will be polished spots on the wheel wells.

even though they are the same "size" they probably are a larger diameter. The stock tire is 25.7 inches in diameter. You didn't post the exact tire you bought, but I bet if you look it up it is at least 0.5" larger in diameter. It probably rubs going backwards and forwards, just on different sides of the car.

Uh.... I had a brain fart. Tires are not rubbing and there are no scuff marks in the wheel well to show that they ever were. I just realized that it makes that noise when the steering wheel has been turned to the max. Brain fart. But thanks for the suggestions anyway guys.

Ha. I always thought my horn blew when I turned the wheel all the way.

that noise is likely your power steering pump (it's worse when it's really really cold).
