EVO X convert to E85
If I wanted to convert my stock 2011 EVO X to E85 what is needed?
Larger Fuel Injectors (at least 30 percent more flow)
I was thinking Injector Dynamic 850cc.
Larger Fuel pump - do they make drop in pumps for EVO Xs? Single pump enough flow?
Tuning - what would be the easiest way to switch back and forth?
Thank you in advance for the replies.

I just converted my Evo X to run E85..
I installed FIC 1100 injectors with the plug & play adapters.
I used Deatchwerks DW65c direct replacement fuel pump...now the big difference with this pump is that it's a direct replacement/drop in fuel pump instead of the other aftermarket pumps where you need a "kit" to install ie. hoses, fuel pump brackets/holders, etc.
then my buddy tuned the car for me...he put in the "map switching" feature on my 'cruise control' button, so i can switch from the E85 map to pump gas map whenever i need to.
I bought all my parts from Maperformance..they'll give you an awesome deal

I am tuned on E85/91 currently with my 2011 EVO X. To my knowledge there is no on the fly map switching out for the 2011's. On the 2008-2010 yes you can use the cruise control to switch. Tephra has not come out with the modification to do so. I use a tactrix cable and laptop to switch if needed
Minimum needed is larger injectors and E85 safe fuel pump/kit

So you guys give up your cruise control for the map switch?
How about adding an extra button on one of the free slots to the left of the steering wheel (around the hid level control)??
I'm dying to do my e85 conversion... now that we have 3 cars... I can definitely afford e85 on my Evo without the worry of running out of gas at any time lol since I no longer daily drive it
But is it ok to run e85 on an otherwise stock Evo? or should u at least aim for a TBE and intake?
I'm in the same boat as you jordo... my '11 is bone stock right now, except for a Cobb flash which I can remove at anytime :\

having the ability to switch tunes to run different fuels is great but it isn't such an "on the fly" type of thing. the car usually runs like **** until the fuel is pure and fuel trims are learned and relearned etc.
My point is that once you switch, you'll likely want to stay on that fuel for a while given the effort you put forth to getting the car happy whatever you put in it. That is unless it's an emergency and you need some type of fuel to get your sorry *** home.
I'm speaking from experience with this FWIW.

also: if you're going to run stock turbo with some basic mods, you'd be well served to include a BOV/DV that doesn't leak and maybe a 3-port for ****s and gigs. My only issue with e85 was it holding boost because of those things.
If you're going the Cobb AP way and can find someone that will do tunes on it, it's easier to carry that around with you then a laptop to flash between the two tunes as needed.
Someone needs to make an Android ECUflash app that can use a Tactrix cable in host mode or something

People range from 40-60 hp just by switching to e85
Not on 2011/12's as of my posting that. I believe Tephra just posted some roms for testing for them.
