According to the owner's manual, and my service department manager, the 2012 Evo is supposed to take regular 5/30 oil.

Anyone actually doing this? I still plan to run full synthetic Mobile 1, unless someone can really explain to me why they've made this change and that it won't change the performance or reliability of the vehicle.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Yup OP thats my thread .. when they told me they are switching back to conventional it pisses me off because its like getting a bad deal on my 2 free oil change (one from mitsubishi corp, one from the dealership) but supposedly the service guy was willing to give me full synth on my 2nd free oil change on the dealer .... I got my oil change at 1500miles , gonna run conventional until i hit 3000-3500 and go full syth from there on ....
