2010+ has a better t-case and diff pins AFAIK. 2012 has the revised timing chain. The newer ones don't have brake boosting. Small things like that

I'm also interested in year-to-year differences if they are available anywhere.

2012 interior trim is black instead of cross hatch pattern

Older models had red info panel, newer ones have multi color display.

Updated exhaust in 2011 I believe.

Side skirt changed in 2010.

High spoiler came as a package with sight and sound in earlier years.

Option for leather and sunroof package in 2011.

brake boosting is where you put your foot on your brake while cruising and going WOT. It keeps you at the same speed but builds your boost up so when you release the brake you take off faster. Because of that issue with the Prius, Mitsubishi designed the newer evo's not to do it. Soon as you touch the brake it kills the power.

Besides the tunes being a tiny bit more aggressive in the later years, theres not much of a difference. The 08's have a high AYC pump failure rate during cold climates.

Yea, thanks to the Prius. I tried it on mine. It builds 2psi and then drops. I'm sure that can be disabled with ecuflash.

So can you heel toe shift then? You need to be able to blip the throttle to downshift while on the brakes. If thats the case i may be looking for a 2010...

Yes you can. It allows you to have power for a few seconds and when you blip the throttle for heel toe, your not going into boost.

Good deal, just had one more thought, what about the stationary rev limiter?

I think there is a thread already describing all this.. But here is what I can think off of the top of my head..

2008s were the ones with the red HUD. The regular 08 side skirts also allow a lot of rocks to chip up the rear door area. This was prevented by the Aero kit tho. The stock 2008 tune was also really crappy.

2010s got upgraded side skirts to prevent the rock chips. Also they received the newer color HUD. Was also the only year that the X SE was available.

2011s received the upgraded diff pins, got a slightly different spoiler, and the leather/sunroof option became available. They also got an upgraded exhaust. Also the tall spoiler became stock all GSRs.

2012s received "soft" or plush door inserts. Also I think they changed something to prevent brake boosting. All dash trim is black instead of the fake carbon fiber look that use to be in the GSRs.

I'm looking into buying an Evo once I sell my Rx-8. With the changes in exhaust design for 2011, I'm assuming the previous exhausts Evo X exhausts won't fit?

They will still fit. They just installed a flapper that makes it louder and produce more power under throttle.
