Blow off valve question

Hi guys. Just a quick question. Other than stock BOV, what else out there is comparable to stock bov or better than stock but will not break my wallet. Reason is, i think my stock one is broken.
Can anyone tell me what a broken bov sounds like or how my car will act like? I think when im on boost, its open partially instead of closed until i let off the gas. Basically, what are the symptoms of a broken BOV? Thanks guys.

If it's broken the car will feel more sluggish and not as quick. It will also flutter, and you can hear it open while under throttle.

If your basing this only on the fact that your boost tapers as you approach redline, that is normal. The stock tune will peak like 23psi and then back down to 16/17psi as you approach redline.

Best way to tell if it's leaking is to datalog really. A tuner can see what the target is per rpm and then if it's not holding you can see. However, it is probably easier to just borrow someone's OE DV and go for a quick drive since it really is easy to swap on the Evo.
