X front seat(s) removal question.

I've lost my FOB in the car. I've looked every where and can no find it, even under the seat. I'm about to just take the seats out and see if maybe it will be some where under there I can't reach or see.... I seen people complain about the SRS lights coming on and having to goto the dealer to get them reset. Also I've see people say disconnect the negative. My question is shouldn't you just disconnect both wires to the battery and wouldn't that prevent the light from coming on? You unplug the SRS clips with no power and then connect them back with no power should leave you with no SRS on your dash right???

I've taken my driver seat out one time because I dropped something under there.. Can't remember what it was.. But I never had a light and I think I left the battery connected.

Edit: it is a PAIN tho actually getting the seat out. They are huge. Put something over plastic to try and prevent scratching.

Yea if I remember right some people had problems with the passenger seat because of the "weight scale" thing in it- when there has to be X amount of weight in the seat to set off the airbag. I think something with that gets screwy..
