Does anyone know why non-USDM Evo X's have the washer fluid reservoir in the engine bay as opposed to the trunk?

 

Hmmm, I wasnt aware that USDM cars were the only ones that had windshield washer tanks in the trunk. I know that USDM cars do not come with the factory intercooler sprayer so I am guessing it has something to do with that.

 

I thought it was to help balance out the weight

 

Could it have something to do with the design of a RHD vs LHD? Its like every evo in different country has something unique for example the canadian evo has a extra diffuser bumper protection on the rear. The japanese evo have a different crash beam that has the tow hook threaded ready.

 

I thought about this too after posting my question. Is the filler for the intercooler sprayer on the front passenger side near the coolant reservoir? If so, then you are right. I was looking at different engine bay pics and saw a filler there so I just assumed it was for the washer fluid.
