meth / ethanol / alcohol kit
i'm trying to learn more about aquamist kits. I'm guessing that the hfs-6 is best? but more important question to me is which is safer methanol ethanol or alcohol also not to mention where to but the items and how to mix 1 of the 3 with water
no bashing me on this, like i said i'm learning, so yes i search here and google

^ I didn't know that's y I'm trying to get more info, school me. Methanol n ethanol is similar correct but ethanol is more like alcohol which actually u can drink up to a certain point also burns a blue. I'm thinking that ethanol is better to mix with water
Ignore him. He's like that. He doesnt play well with others. I think pretentious describes it best.
To me, the decision between methanol and ethanol comes down to why you are injecting something in the first place. If this is a back-up to your intercooler, then I would use a mix of methanol and water, because methanol has a high latent heat of vaporization than ethanol. If this is a power additive, instead, then use ethanol, because ethanol has more energy than methanol.
Personally, when I ran injection in a DSM, I just used blue windshield washer fluid and called it a day. Whatever you do, don't run tap water unless you have a reverse-osmosis softener. Salt-softened water and most public tab water will be too hard and your nozzle will clog very quickly.
ps. I have no input on the question of who should be ignored

Yes, Iowa can be what Kendogg called him, but more often than not, Iowa is also very correct in his comments. He points out stupidity (or not having knowledge in something) in others, and it is generally taken as very brash, but its just his personality. Iowa knows what he is talking about in almost every post I see of his. In this case, he is correct. There was not enough knowledge in the first post, so he pointed it out. He also finished with a second post giving a great answer using scientific facts between latent heat of vaporization as well as having more energy. So basically, long story short, Iowa is correct here. Depends on what the OP really wants to do with the kit.

While I have no idea why people do what they do (my day-job not-with-standing), I agree that E85 is a better way to go if it's consistently available in your area. For example, the rules under which I run allow either (or both) of E85 and water/alcohol injection, but no changes to intercoolers. Ten years ago, living in central PA, I added injection to the DSM and used a water/meth mix (i.e., blue windshield washer fluid). Now, here in Iowa, there's no question that I'd go with E85, instead.

I'm looking into maybe getting a water/methanol injection kit. I live in California so I have crappy 91 gas and my town doesn't have E85. I would probably use some kind of mixture of methanol or ethanol with water. I am looking at Snow, aqua mist, and AEM. What do you guys think?
My mods: TBE, intake, UICP, IC, 3port, custom tune. In the future I will likely upgrade the turbo. My car is putting out 330 WHP and 360 lbs of torque. I want to be closer to 400 with a better top end and not to much lag. I really enjoy that low end torque for daily driving.

One issue is whether the car is daily driven and/or how important is convenience to you? If you want this to be relatively simple, I'd just run (and tune for) windshield-washer fluid. Yeah, a fancier mix might be better, but the convenience of refilling the reservoir with every third tank of gas can't be beat. The only drawback is the annoying location of the reservoir on an X compared to, say, a 2G DSM.
Besides that, what I said a year ago with regard to methanol vs ethanol still stands. Methanol still has the higher latent heat; ethanol still has more energy in it.
