Finally it begins...some help needed
I've owned my 2008 EVOX for a couple of years now...kept her stock all the way up to the warranty ran out, even had the chain stretch issue which was repaired under warranty. Made my last payment on the car the other week. NOW I CAN HAVE FUN....I've finally begun to mod the car...ordered a GReddy SP Elite catback exhaust, MilSpec 100 Cell High flow cat, and an AMS UIC pipe, a WORKS filter is already installed....My catback was delivered FAST, and got here today. I just have a couple of questions before i start to put the parts on...
1. With the MilSpec there is a warning stating: *PLEASE NOTE: Due to the increased flow, a mechanical CEL fix may be necessary depending on mods, tune, etc......What parts do i need to correct this? I don't want to drive around with an engine service light on...
2. When all the parts are finally on the car, is it safe to drive to the tuner? Or will i have to have the car towed? I will be sending my car to Ivey since i live close, or whenever those guys answer emails lol
3. Should i get any kind of pressure tests or checks before i begin to put the parts on? I just had a recent routine service done by the dealership.
Any other feedback or help would be appreciated...

Always a good idea to make sure you are at stage 0 before you start bolting parts on the car. New plugs, filters, oil, all that stuff. A compression check is a great idea too, just so you have the numbers going forward. I think your best bet is to have the shop that's going to tune the car also install the parts. If you are going to do it yourself and you are close you can (based on your list) get everything on and drive very mildly over to the tuner, CEL or no. Just don't get into it as the mods will cause you to run lean.
Whichever tuner you choose, make sure they are set up to provide additional support for your mods, other repairs, future builds, whatever. Trying to diagnose future issues without that level of comprehenisve support can be very difficult and why I chose EFI Logics in Bethel, CT.

The 2008's run EXTREMELY rich. None of those mods will damage your car or make you run lean even if you beat on it. I would suggest a downpipe though before you head over to ivey. Don't wonna regret not getting anything!
I thought a downpipe wasn't necessary unless I was upgrading my turbo??. I've read through a lot of the threads in here for knowledge about which mods to get, so I'm just going off of what I read.. How much more power would the downpipe get me?
As every car is a little different, it's not a bet I'd be willing to take. I agree about the DP though, you'll want to do that too. As for power increases, it's hard to tell and depends a little on how the tuner handles it. I'm going to guess +15-20 but, importantly, the overall flow will be improved considerably allowing for some flexibility in tuning that you wouldn't have otherwise.

I agree on getting all the exhaust parts including the DP first and then going for a tune. I have seen some dyno sheets showing decent increases with the down pipe. Kracka posted his not too long ago and showed some nice gains. Like John said it will improve the overall flow and allow the tuner to get the most they can.

Yea its took a lot of self control, but I just upgraded the radio, speakers, and got some wheels to hold me off. Used all the extra money I saved and paid the car off. Now I can mod without worries. Why did you remove your downpipe?
All my parts are here, hiflo cat will be here tomorrow....i installed the AMS UICP by myself....anybody in NJ that knows EVOS want to install my DP, and exhaust for beer and some cash???????
