Carbon fiber protection?
Hmmmm good question, as I only had them re-clear my OEM wing and pre clear my APR wing so I will have to dig out the invoice to tell you an exact price. A hood and a trunk though I am sure will be a lil bit more.
GM uses a special clearcoat that has a special substance that costs $60,000 a gallon, but since they only use 3% of the stuff, it works out to $2,000 a gallon. UV light can really damage cf parts and clearcoat.
If the clearcoat is damaged, it needs to be removed and new clearcoat reapplied. After that, there are several options for protection. One is to clear vinyl wrap the wing. This will slightly less shine, but will protect the cf underneath. The second way is to first seal the clearcoat with something like JetSeal, Menzerna or Klasse, then wax it. Sealing will give greater protection than just wax.
How often one should do this depends a lot on how long the car is exposed to the sun. If the car sits outside all day, I myself would probably wax the wing once a week. You don't need to keep resealing each week, but it won't hurt to do it more if you want to. The main thing is to keep the UV exposure to a minimum.
