Talking bought AWM3's evo - Gram Lights 57g + TEIN Monoflex

Well, I've been lurking on this site since 2002 and I finally bought my first Evo. I got AWM3's 2010 WW and it's pretty sick. The wife and I drove it up the coast from LA to SF yesterday and I loved it. It comes with pretty much everything I'd want to mod already (I'm not one to go crazy like some of you). In fact, I think I'm going to trade out the Brides for stock seats sometime soon.
  • Gram Lights 57g 18x9.5 +12 w/ Hanook R-S3 265/35
  • TEIN Monoflex Coilovers
  • Bride Zeta III
  • RRE Stealth Exhaust
  • K&N cone filter
  • Nardi 330mm steering wheel
  • 3M clear bra

I don't have any good pictures yet but here's one I took this morning while washing the road trip dust off (on my dead lawn). Hopefully, I'll be able to post up some better ones soon.

Congrats on a nice find. It's a clean car.

If you wanna trade for stock seats let me know. I'm up in the bay area.

So what are your plans? Any mods in the future? Gonna track it or do some autoX?

My plans in rough order are:
  • Check fpr hose
  • Swap fuel pump relay
  • Swap driveline fluids with redline (it's at 30k miles anyway)
  • Tint windows
  • Raise ride height 1/2" or so
  • Get SSP undertray
  • Add TPMS for the Gram Lights

The front wheels rub on fairly minor bumps on the freeway so either I need more camber or to raise it up a little bit. I'm not sure what the alignment settings are yet as I'm waiting on some paperwork that Evasive is sending to the seller, AWM3. The old undertray got torn up so the seller removed it so I'd like to get it replaced... raising the ride height a tiny bit will probably help this too. Other than that, I'll probably keep it fairly close to how it is now, at least for a little while since this will be my DD. I am tempted by the SSP oil catch can since I'm ordering the undertray from them too...

I'd love to do a bit of auto x, I've been once before in an old car and it was a blast but I'm not sure about track days.

I have a 34" waist with fairly large hips and they feel great. I wouldn't want to be too much bigger though without getting the large version. The padding isn't super thick but since you don't move around in the seats, it's surprisingly comfortable. I drove up from LA to SF (maybe 6 hours in the car) and it wasn't bad at all with a few stops. It would be nice, on a long trip like that, to move around a little bit more but when you're cornering, you stay planted in one spot. The side bolsters go up to the top of my legs and the shoulder ones keep my upper body from moving too much, even using the stock belts.

That's a bit too much cash ontop for me.

This weekend there's an autoX if your interested. It'll be my first autoX in my Evo. Lemme know if you wanna caravan down there. Another member is going to check it out as well. I've got a pop-up tent and will be bbqing. Even if you don't race it's cool to see all the cars and you can ride along.
Hit me up if your down. And that goes for anyone else in the SF bay area

Congrats!!

From the picture I've seen of AWM3's car over the years it looks like he took very good care of his car.

Yeah, I don't know if there's any way I'll be able to keep it as clean as he did. Especially inside, it's spotless.
