I'll be ordering Works shorts shifter soon. Probably end up getting Kracka's Ultimate Shifter package from MAP. Hopefully it goes on sale for Black Friday hahah

I too am not enjoying my stock shifter. I'm only at 1200 miles though.

Mostly it feels like 3rd gear is grinding when I go 2nd to 3rd. Even with the clutch fully down I sometimes get a little grind and resistance on the shifter. Other times it's smooth.

My other observation is that the 2nd to 3rd shift seems to not grind when the rpms are above 3000rpm. But if I short shift early, even with the clutch fully in, it "chips" going into 3rd. I *hate* that and will probably bleed my clutch again this weekend to make sure it's not that. I removed the clutch restrictor which helped the clutch feel, but shifts aren't any better.

I don't like it and feel like it's ruining the syncros. It's probably just break in since the miles are so low. This is my first new car but man my IX shifted a lot better.

I'll have to check out these kits and see what I should run. Thanks for the info guys.

For me, SS & fluid made the biggest differences.

Just hit up MAPerformance and get "Kracka's Ultimate Shifter Setup"

It's Works short throw, Works Knob, Redline Cocktail, bushings, trans-side bushings. Complete winning package.

EDIT:

Redline cocktailX
-2x MTL
-1x MT90

It's the same fluid as included in my shifter package linked above.

Heavier shifter knob

How much of a difference does the heavier Blox shifter knob (490 grams) makes compared to WORKS knob (173 grams)?

Appreciate the input of someone who have tried both.

I recently made the change to a heavier knob as well. Not the same exact ones but similar weights. I went from the mitsu sports package one at ~190g to my new LatheWerks one at ~500g. Definitely worth every penny! I've had the rest of Kracka's package done for a while and finally completed it with a knob. The extra weight feels so good going through gears now. It easily makes up for any leverage that was lost with the lower shift height. Get the blox knob..you wont regret it.
