Thinking of going from GSR to MR
I have owned my 2010 GSR for approximately 1 year. Out of all the cars I have owned I find it to be my favorite. Shortly before the GSR I owned the Ralliart. One thing I loved about the ralliart was the SST but all my other cars were manual. When I upgraded to the X I thought I should go with the GSR and get back in a manual. Well I don't race and my wife just had our first born. I am thinking of going back to the SST for the convenience of it all and plus my wife can't drive a manual and doesn't want to learn.
Do you guys think I can get an even trade going from the GSR to a used MR with a few more miles? I just don't want to get raked over the coals. It's just something I have been thinking about. Maybe it's just a crazy thought.
If I do go through with it will the Cobb AP transfer over with new maps or will Cobb charge to make it ready for the MR?

I'm going to go against the grain here, and propose that you forget about Evo's for the time being, concentrate on your family, sell your GSR privately, and get yourself a slightly used, reliable 4-door sedan requiring a lot less maintenance and fuel. You can always get back into an Evo in a few years, if you so desire.

Thanks for all the input and opinions. As far as teaching her to drive stick we tried on my old 350Z convertible. She hated it and had enough.
I have seriously thought about a cheap family sedan and getting out of a sport car for a while. She said if I would do that and we get that one paid off I could get back into a sports car. That would be a good option too.
It is good to know the Cobb is compatible with the MR. What about exhaust and intake?

No brainier buddy: get the MR. I purchased a 2012 MR two months ago and would not trade it for a GSR ever. The SST in sport mode is so smooth, the shifts are quick, the response immediate. Drove stick for years, but using it in stop and go city traffic can be a pain in the ****. Unless you are one of those who prefers to ride a bicycle before driving an "automatic" cause it somehow makes u less macho or less of a driving enthusiast, the SST tranny will be a great choice.
SST has the best of both worlds and if you don't need the car to generate ridiculous amounts of HP/TQ, you will be very happy with MR as your daily driver.
