Gauge Pillar for X?
You do have a point but if a mustang which costs just as much as an evo can get their pods made for $50, someone is making some serious cash on what they charge us. That whole airbag excuse I don't buy it oem A pillar retails for $46 on one of the websites I found. The problem is not one company wants to make a mold for it since that costs money up front, instead they custom make them and that takes time $$$.
I have a rexpeed cover because I refuse to pay that kind of money, I'm getting to a point where I'm just going to cut the pod section off the rexpeed pillars and molding it to my stock OEM A pillar making it a OEM fit.

likely the difference in cost. I agree it's expensive (I have a Rexspeed for sale if anyone is interested, just pm me), but I couldn't be happier with my DSG one right now.
I had the rexspeed one and it was a piece of ****. DSG uses oem pillars, infact they went to every dealership in their city and bought every pillar they had in stock and made what you see in my pocture. Thats why it costs so much. That and the fact that no one makes a complete replacement so it was in demand.
I was actually thinking about making a how to on the A-pillar gauge pod. There are a few members which have already done this, but didnt do a write up. Its actually pretty easy and can be done for anywhere between $50-$100 depending on what supplies you already have. It just takes time to do because of all the sanding involved. Another thing to consider is if you want to keep the piece the stock color or paint them black.
