Powershifting/Flat foot shifting question

I've decided to go ahead and give it a shot so i just want to make sure of something first lol. My rev limiter is currently set to 8200. So when powershifiting..... lets say im in first gear, I rev all the way up to around 8k, keep the gas floored, tap the clutch and shift into 2nd. When I do that the revs shouldnt increase past 8200 correct? The only way to rev past the rev limiter is to mis shift right? I just want to make sure that my rev limiter will keep the rpms below 8200 when i shift.

Your rev limiter will keep that in check while your in neutral.

Is your valve springs upgraded? Didn't see list of mods on phone app.

I would suspect yes, along with the rest of the motor as this would be a very short exercise otherwise.

Kind of sounds like you have never power shifted. Try it at a lower rpm and see how it goes for you first and then work your way up. Also allow 4-500 rpm for the quick shift. This engine is pretty rev happy. Not really worth it for that extra .10 in the 1/4. With a stock clutch and flywheel now days cars have a tendency to not drop in RPMs quickly anyway. Minimal gains that could cause a lot of damage.

I tried it at lower rpms and everything went smoothly, though at higher rpms the turbo is fully spooled and the rpms increase even faster. My main concern was if the rev limiter was going to do its job while shifting which i guess would be the same thing as being in neutral.

On a side note the relevant upgrades i have are cams, springs, act 6 puck with flywheel, and jack built trans.
