I've been looking at a few rwd cars myself. I'm keeping this car, but I want something different to drive every now and then, too.

I have a Saturn Sky Redline with all the boltons and an aggressive tune. 390TQ and RWD is a BLAST. However, it sucks to drive on anything but dry roads. I DD my Evo and my Sky gets about 4k miles a year. My Sky is faster than a Boxster or Cayman, straight line or around the turns. I'm not sure but I'd bet a Cayman S is a bit faster than the Sky.

I'm sorry but comparing a Saturn to a Porsche is like comparing a pile of **** to a diamond.

the reality is it comes down to preference and what you will actually be using the car for....the evo for me solves the problem of having both a great circuit machine and being able to put the kids in the back...if i had no kids i would go back to the S2000...it was the greatest driving machine i've owned....evo is faster in lap time but S2000 is most amazing feeling when driven at the limit

This gets everybody almost all the time. Most of us love driving rwd but then it comes down to power. For the price evo's are basically top 3 quickest and most people always say then prefer the Evo more because of the power difference but always misses the rwd. Whatever way you go I doubt you will regret it

Have you considered an RX-8?

Maybe you should post on a Porsche forum? Just an idea.

A cayman is gonna be one heck of a step up in quality alone from an Evo. If you have the money for one I'd get one just for that reason alone. I'm sure you would enjoy it just as much if not more than the Evo. And they look better IMO.

Are you talking about the upcoming Cayman or the current one? The new is suppose to be pretty sweet. Current one is good too. Recently bought a new 911 S but originally looked at the new Boxster and Cayman. Decided I couldn't wait on the new Cayman so went the Carrera route. heh.

You enjoy each car for what it brings. No regrets on my current purchase.

Meh, in Tarmac mode you have SOME rearwheel compared to the other modes. Unless I'm drifting at a track, I really think RWD is at a disadvantage compared to the Evo. So what, you can melt tires...I thought the point was performance, not lack of performance. spin tires, lose momentum, slow down, grip fail, gotta steer harder so you don't spin out, etc, etc, etc.

I dunno, just not for me.

Turbo lag? What about anti-lag? What about building boost at a launch and through the gears by misfiring? Does that not matter?

I don't think I'll ever understand those all motor people.

I don't want to have to rev my motor high and slip my clutch just to stay in front of a toyota 4 runner from a light.

that's just me. no need to understand.

Has anyone ever driven or owned a Cayman....if so please relate the driving experience. Thanks!
I see your sig says you had a 2009 Miata... Any reason for selling that?
