I love my EVO but....

I am thinking about getting a Porsche Cayman, I miss the rear wheel drive experince. Its not that I dont love the EVO, I do, but I miss being in a low slung rwd corner carver.
Has anyone ever driven or owned a Cayman....if so please relate the driving experience. Thanks!

I've been thinking that I may want an S2000 sooner than I thought. I'm very interested in this topic.

Ive owned an S2000, two STI's, and a RX8 R3. I do alot of circuit driving. I can tell u the evo x is the fastest of what i owned around a track. That being said it does not have the "feel" of my s2000 or r3, but it never will either. Those chasis start from the drawing board so different from the evo. I agree the feel and response of a well engineered rwd machine is unmatched by other designs.

I've always loved Evos, it all started bc a family member had a Evo 6, I've owned Evo 9 and Evo 10 with in 1 year and half, but I've also owned 300zx twin turbo heavily modded and e46 m3 and I miss RWD so much, that I also have been giving it some thought about going back... Just different handling, car responds different and so much more fun to play with... So yea, I miss it , but I also luv my Evo a lot, so I'm just stay put for now....

my brother inlaw had a boxster and i used to drive it boy was that thing fun in the twisties !! The boxster/cayman platform is ALOT of fun. The steering wheel feed back is amazing and better than evos. Its was always pushing me to go faster ! The boxster was lacking HP, BUT it didnt feel like it, you are low the the ground and I took a mustang (like not the new ones) at a red light 0-60mph.

Porsche is alot more expensive alot more cost to keep and maintain, but it sure is a huge step from evo. If I have money I would buy a boxster/cayman for DD and Evo for the weekend

I would like to keep the EVO even after getting another car, I wont be getting a Porsche until the EVO is payed off, 20 more months payments.

I have also considered a BMW 128i or 135is (obviously alot less $)....I have a hankering for 6cyl, low slung, pure, rwd experience....I miss the low slung RX8s that i owned but I dont miss the low torque, horrible mpg and fragile engines.

The EVO scratched my itch for all out torque/power 0-60, and it does handle amazingly well, (It won for best handling car under 40,000$ by car and driver) but I do miss rwd...I see that Im not alone in this...

Big difference between cayman and cayman s. I'd say yes to cayman s, no for cayman. Get a supercharged s2000, and you won't regret!

Well I love driving the supra.. but all that power and no traction stuff got old quick.
Yeah its fun to drift once and a while.. but lets be realistic here.
Are you buying a car just for feel.. or the overall package?

if you want to make your car a lot more fun, put it close to 600awhp and let that rear end rip
plus can you fit 4 grown people in a cayman or an s2000 ?

at 400 HP on a mustang, I've got as much turbo lag as I'm willing to put up with (have to slip clutch just to keep SUVs behind me from a light).

maybe sometime in the future (after I blow my motor?) I'll look into going 2.3 or 2.4 so I can have higher HP without more lag, but there's no way in hell I'd be willing to drive a 600 HP Evo if it increases lag at all (most charts I see in that range aren't hitting boost until 5000+ RPMs). and e85 is out of the question for me.
