Hi all,

I have a topspeed 3" exhaust ( the kind that used to be available on ebay) it sounds great gets many compliments but it is obnoxiously loud and Im growing tired of it. Just too loud for DD/Road trips. My options are try to throw on a resonator and hope its back to tolerable or put the stocker back on and get a new exhaust down the road. Here is the resonator Im considering:

Any opinions? Will it make a big difference? I dont mind hearing the exhaust but its just soo loud right now I need a change.

 

yes a resonator will quiet it down a lot trust me i know how annoying a loud exhaust can get i use to have a ets v2 extreme on my x with no resonators or cats it was stupid loud at all times lol but this one of a weld on and i have an ams resonated test pipe that i dont use i can sell it to you for $200 shipped it will save you the money or getting it welded in

 

Does it matter where to put the resonator? Ive read that the closer it is to the rear of the car the more effective it will be. Is that correct?

 

It does matter where you put it based on the diameter of the piping in your exhaust and the RPM you're trying to quiet down.

I don't know where you should put it, just those are the things that dictate where you should put it.
