2012 X Idler pulley

P.S. You can buy new Gates brand plastic pulleys from RockAuto for $10/ea. I plan to change my belt at 60k miles (currently at 53k), and as far as I can tell my pulleys are still all in good shape, but if they're not I plan to just get another set of plastics for cheap since my OEM ones have lasted this long already.

Modern belts don't need to be changed at 30k miles, just pointless really unless you don't put miles on quickly, in which case the belt will dry rot before actually wearing out. I sold my IX at 53k miles and the stock belt was still in great shape, as is my X belt at 53k miles. Doing it at 60k is plenty safe for preventative maintenance. I do plan to do mine this summer before my cross-country roadtrip though along with a coolant change.

I think those with broken pulley might be racing and w/o under tray and debris hitting it to break. Now the HYundai pulley is metal...i hope that metal is not hotter than the plastic during use.
Can the belt and pullies be replaced with engine in? i was looking at them when we did my turbo swap. 2 of the pullies seem easy to get at but the top one dont seem like enough room since it right next to the frame.

When I say northern, I mean closer to the Canadian boarder than anything else!
