Off-center/Offset Steering am I crazy?!

I only noticed this after a couple weeks of ownership, but the steering wheel is not perfectly centered on the gauge cluster. It is maybe half-an-inch to the right, making it also not centered directly on the seat. I would probably have never noticed had it not been for the Recaros and my long legs. By forcing my legs together I found my right leg always touched the wheel, while my left leg always had a gap. Am I going crazy? I know some cars have slightly offset steering wheels, I believe the 3.6L Passat is an example. I have NEVER seen this mentioned in the EVO! Not really complaining, just want to see what others have noticed. Just look at the centerline of the steering wheel and how it lines up with the tachometer and speedometer.

Oh, it's so much worse than just that. The seat isn't directly in front of the wheel and the pedals aren't in front of the seat. Love the car, but hate the ergonomics with a freaking passion and can't wait to move to a class (for racing) where we can fix it all.

Of all the mods I did to my previous car - and they were numerous, as it was an SM-prepped 2G DSM - the only one that did more good than R-compounds was the new seat and wheel. Not even the custom suspension made as much of a difference. You cannot - IMO (note the lack of an H) - be fast without be comfy.

Dang, now I'm gonna notice this next time I drive. This was one of the reasons I felt a little awkward in my 02 Z06, seat felt like it was rotated counter clockwise. I was always tempted to change out the seats, but there were so many other things that I wanted to do first.

Lol I just checked this out and it's so incredibly subtle, but it's there. The left lobe of the tach sticks out a tiny bit more than the right side when looking at the steering wheel dead center.

Lol!! I had to go for a drive this morning just to check if it was gonna drive me crazy, I can't really tell that it's off, that's a relief.

A lot of people don't notice the lousy ergonomics unless and until they start trying to left-foot brake. But every LFBer that has driven my car has made some sort of rude comment. Besides the issue of the wheel, seat, and pedals lining up, you also have the crazy difference in resting heights to the pedals.

Oh jeez... my car arrives April 14th, now I'm going to be examining before I take off from the dealer. Good to know that, I'd be thinking I was crazy.

Nope. It's been almost 10 years since I drove a pony-car of any sort in anger. Plus, I rarely if ever LFB in a normally-aspirated RWD. Did it once in a Vette and ended up in the grass.
