Burning up oil

I have a 2012 Evo X MR with about 5800 miles on it. I mainly drive the car on weekends and sometimes to the store here and there due to having a company car. The only mod I have on the car is a ETS Intake.

The other day I was driving and the car seemed like it was acting up and I started to check the fluids and I noticed that the oil was like 2.5 qts low. I just changed the oil around the first of the year. I looked in the engine bay and I haven't notice any oil leaking anywhere. I would take it to the dealership but the dealership is like a 4 hour drive from where I currently live.

Any suggestions on what I should be looking for or what could be happening?

Thanks

If it's not dripping and not blowing blue smoke, then maybe the people who changed your oil put in too little. Keep an eye on it for a few weeks before freaking out.

I remember checking it about a month ago and it was a little low and I topped it off.

How is your car "acting up"? Also... are you letting the car settle before checking the oil level?

It just seemed weird to me, nothing really in particular. Maybe it was the idle, honestly I can't remember. Yea I checked it like 30 mins after I parked it.

If you can't even say what the problem is... your imagination may be playing tricks on you... lol

Yea but it still doesn't explain why I would be burning up that much oil. I'll just keep watching it.

Where did you get your oil changed last? The Evo has a little ring that goes with the oil plug. When the plug is tightened it crunches the ring giving it a seal. The rings are suppose to really only be used once and should be changed out with each oil change. Using the same ring a second time may cause an oil leak. Do you have any leaks under the car when it is parked?

are you checking your oil right after you drive it?
because you should wait about 10-15 mins after you drive it to check your oil so all the oil can drain down into the oil pan

I had my oil changed by the dealership around the first of the year. Also I haven't seen any oil leaking under the car. I'll jack it up today and see what i can see from under the car. Also, like I said in a previous post that I waited 30 mins to check the oil.

to answer your question not that's not normal. You shouldn't be burning that much oil. Granted they will burn oil but not that much.
