Agp cai on a stock gsr no tune
Agp cai on a stock gsr no tune
Hey guys im looking for lower rpms when crusing at 80mph , and some bpv /spool noise for my bone stock evox gsr. I like the AGP cai price wise and i also know for a fact that the colder air will lower my rmps at crusing speeds. My only question is if its safe to run it with out a tune , i now the maf holder pipe has an increased diameter and this will most likely lean down the car a little bit , i dont have an afr or boost gauge for now but it will be my next mod , most likely around fathers day. Thanks in advance
CAI will not lower the RPM at a 80mph, that has nothing to do with it. Speed is a product of the car's gearing - engine RPM, transmission gear, final drive etc.
I have no idea who told you that you will drop RPM by getting an intake.

even ams stated that if you have an 08 evo it would be safe to run their SRI or CAI without a tune.
i have this AGP as well but i plan on running it with the stock maf housing as i already have a samco turbo inlet. in effect pretty much the same as what the speedcicuit cai is, from the maf to the bumper only, retaining your stock turbo inlet. hopefully not much cutting / modifying to make it work.

Are the dots close enough now?
With that said, thanks to the OP for the giggle triggered by the idea that changing the intake would alter the gear ratio and/or tire diameter.
Spray some liquid nitrogen on your intake.. that will lower your intake temps by about 200 degrees and you'll be able to cruise at 80MPH at 500RPM and get about 80 miles to the gallon
